How to change the mode and on/off with one button?
Full press the switch with hearing a "click" and you will turn on or off the torch, and half press the switch lightly without any "click" you will change the mode.
When you turn the torch off, then back on again, does it either turn back on at full brightness or the last mode used?
It depends, if you turn off the torch and back on again in 5 seconds, it will change to the next mode. if over 5 seconds, it will turn back to full brightness.
Does it include batteries? Can the 18650 rechargeable battery be charged while in the torch?
No, there is no battery included. And there is no charging function with the torch, so the 18650 rechargeable battery can't be charged while in the torch. you need to charge the 18650 rechargeable battery with a battery charger.
